NISL Begins 2023 League Award Announcements with Golden Glove Winner for Women’s Division
TAMPA, FL - The National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) begins its annual league awards’ announcements by recognizing the 2023 Golden Glove winner in the women’s division.
Angel Hailey, of the Memphis Americans, repeats as the Golden Glove in the Women’s Division and is the only player to have won the award in the division in NISL history. Her strong, consistent play in goal is one of the key reasons her team was able to win the league championship and remain the only women’s division team to hold that title.
Hailey led the NISL in the three of the four major statistical categories with 10 wins (.769 win %), 2.69 goals against average, and two shutouts. Her .786 save percentage was good for second-best in the league. She also faced the second-highest shots against number and played the second-most minutes in the league for goalkeepers in the Women’s Division.
The 34 goals scored against the Memphis women were the lowest team total in the league this year. Hailey started every game the Americans played this season and was a key factor in Memphis achieving the highest goal differential (+28) in the league for 2023.
The full release of league awards will take place over the next few days, as the NISL recognizes top players, coaches and teams for the 2023 season.
